People ask me “So what do you think of Chicago?” and nine times out of ten, I reply, “It’s cold!”

My first winter here was brutal. Not quite as bad as the polar vortex winter of 2013-2014, but let’s just say it was never a dream of mine to know the difference between 0 degrees and -15 degrees. Combine that with the winter darkness and some self-diagnosed SADD, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

But it is currently a March evening, the sun has set, and my bedroom window is open letting in the nearly 60 degree weather! It’s the little things…
